Commissioner Lenarčič takes part in earthquake exercise with emergency responders from Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Italy and Slovenia

Today, Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarčič takes part in the SIQUAKE2020 full-scale exercise in Ljubljana, Slovenia alongside members of the Slovenian government. In this full-scale field exercise, the EU is preparing emergency professionals from several Member States respond to an earthquake and test their abilities for a well-coordinated cross-border response.

The second flight of the EU Humanitarian Air Bridge to Tigray, co-organised by the EU, France and Italy, landed in Mekelle airport on 6 October 2021 delivering an additional 10.6 tonnes of life-saving cargo for the people affected by the conflict in Tigray, Ethiopia.This is in addition to the 4.4 tonnes of ready-to-use therapeutic food for severely malnourished children, already delivered to UNICE
