Explore Research Opportunities on Climate Change Risks
The EU-funded IRISCC project brings together leading European Research Infrastructures to support research into climate-change-related risks. As of 28 April 2025, IRISCC has officially launched its Catalogue of Services and opened its first Transnational (TA) and Virtual Access (VA) Call.
The IRISCC Catalogue of Services provides access to:
- Experimental facilities and test platforms
- Long-term observational and monitoring networks
- Curated datasets and modelling tools
- Expertise in climate risk analysis, adaptation, and early warning
- Cross-disciplinary training and scientific support
Through the Transnational (TA) and Virtual Access (VA) Call, researchers, policymakers, and innovators across Europe can apply for sponsored access to a wide range of services aimed at tackling climate hazards, exposure, and vulnerability. These services cover a wide scope of disciplines—from geoscience and ecosystems to health and socio-economic impacts—enabling researchers to address complex climate-change-driven risks such as droughts, wildfires, floods, or cascading events.
To support applicants in navigating the application process, we’ve created the IRISCC Access Handbook—your go-to guide for understanding eligibility, access modes, proposal criteria, and submission steps. Whether you’re new to transnational access or an experienced user of European research infrastructures, the handbook provides everything you need to get started.
Access is provided free of charge and is available to individuals regardless of nationality or institutional affiliation. On-site, remote, and virtual options make participation flexible and inclusive.
